Loch Carron is the stretch of water that sweeps past the Cottage inland towards the village of Lochcarron and spreads out in front of the Cottage with the village of Plockton on the far shore. Places of note around the loch include Lochcarron village, Strome Castle, Stromeanach (an abaondoned village), Attadale Gardens and a mountain that has a profile like a lying-down Duke of Wellington.
The scenery of Scotland is stunning, and the area around Ardaneaskan and Loch Carron is no exception. There is always something new to look at - be it due to changing seasons, time of day or the ever-varied weather. Sunrises and sunsets can be spectacular and the plants and trees always have new colours to enhance and enrich the views.
