This three-bedroom self-catering holiday cottage in the beautiful hamlet of Ardaneaskan right on the shores of Loch Carron offers easy access to the mountains, glens, rivers and seas of North West Scotland. The mountains of Skye and the village of Plockton can be seen across the loch.
Decorated with a balance between modern and traditional and with a grassed garden and easy access to a secluded pebble beach (less than 30 seconds away!) the cottage provides quality accommodation in a unique and relaxed 'away from it all' setting.
Being the on the North Coast 500 (NC500), Lochcarron is in an ideal location to explore the south west corner of this stunning route that travels around the coasts of north Scotland. The cottage, Taobh na Dachaidh in Ardaneaskan (just outside of Lochcarron) offers a great place to base yourselves for your exploration of this beautiful area.

Arrivals on your first day are OK any time after 5pm and departures on your last morning are to be by 9am.
The cottage has been owned by various members of the same family for many many years. It is situated a literal stone's throw from the beach in the hamlet of Ardaneaskan and is just a few miles from the popular lochside village of Lochcarron. Lochcarron has a pub that serves real ale and food, a well-stocked Spar supermarket with Post Office and several artists' studios. There are several cafés nearby.
Ardaneaskan is less than 10 miles from Strathcarron Railway Station (on the Kyle Line), is easily accessible by car and is a beautiful 2 hour drive from Inverness Airport.
The Isle of Skye is 30 miles round the other side of Loch Carron and the Highland mountains are within easy reach. The area offers great walking, cycling and touring with plenty of quiet coves, shorelines, hills/mountains and woods to explore. The beach by the cottage is a great place from where to explore the loch by kayak (if you have one and are confident paddling on open water). The Kyle Line, said to be one of the best railway journeys in the country, runs along the other side of Loch Carron. Lochcarron is on the south-western corner of the celebtared the North Coast 500 route .

Places of interest close by include Strome Castle, Atterdale Gardens, Applecross via the Bealach na Bà, Plockton, Shieldaig, Loch Torridon, Kyle of Lochalsh (and the bridge to Skye) and Eilean Donan Castle.
Slightly further afield you could try the Isle of Skye, Glenelg Brochs, Inverness, Strathpeffer, Dingwall, Loch Ness, Fort William and Fort Augustus to name just a few.
Of course, once you see the stunning location of the cottage, you may decide to stay local and enjoy the 'away from it all' sense of peace and breathtaking beauty surrounding the cottage, garden and beach.
